Business is Picking Up!

We've been having a busy couple of weeks at Update Company. In the last months I've signed up a few new businesses -

Water Diagnostics - An expansion of a company out of Wisconsin that does water testing and monitoring. http://www.waterdiagnostics.com/

Wyndgate Health PLLC - A company that does nutritional consulting.

Better Window and Remodeling - a company that sells and installs windows.

Also, I have renewed leases with the US Post Office, Oskie Hamilton and Sofio Law Firm and Touching Hearts Inc.

Business definitely feels like it is picking up!! Although in our corner of the Midway, we're always busy.

Update Company's Stand on Central Corridor Light Rail

Light Rail is Coming - Midtown Commons is Ready For many years, we've heard about light rail - the possibilities and the potential disruptions - for our tenants and our company. When a big project like this comes, you can get involved or bury your head in the sand. We have chosen to get involved in the dialog and give our input into the upcoming project. Light rail will affect our five buildings at Midtown Commons 2314, 2324, 2334 University, 2300 Myrtle and 700 Raymond. The Raymond LRT Station will be built in front of our buildings. We don't know the timeline, but it will be built between 2011 and 2014. We will lose about 12 on street parking spaces in front of our buildings We will be assessed for streetscape improvements - estimated at over $ 30,000 The good news is this: We're ready for the rail and up to the challenge. Developments continue in Raymond/University Despite COVID

More apartments are planned for 2225 University Avenue (next to the McDonald's) This is the former site of Paster Enterprises office building. We are excited to see more density for the neighborhood and more residents to support our local restaurants and retail.

Platform Apartments Really Taking Shape!

The construction site is very busy at University and Hampden where the Platform Apartments are under construction. This is going to be a great addition to the neighborhood - replacing two blighted buildings - turning the corner into a beautiful place to live. A roof top patio will be a great amenity, as will the underground parking lot. We are excited for our new neighbors to move in this fall. St. Anthony Park is really growing - adding many new neighbors close to University. Hopefully this development will bring a new restaurant!
