Did you know that 61% of low-income families in the U.S. have zero children's books in their homes? That is one thing the Minnesota Literacy Council is trying to change. The MLC was started in 1972 by people who recognized that teaching a person to read is critical to their growth and self-sufficiency. They have a great volunteer base and could always use more!
